Cynthia Adams, LEED AP, Executive Director

Ms. Adams oversees the development and implementation of LEAP's operations and works to secure new funding through grants and business opportunities. She presents at conferences on the LEAP alliance program model, innovative marketing campaigns, and information technology to support program implentation and scale. 

Ms. Adams actively promotes energy efficiency through her work around the state supporting other community-based energy efficiency organizations. She sits on the Governance Board of the state chapter of Efficiency First and on the Steering Committee for the Virginia Energy Efficiency Council. She is also a member of the Branch Governing Council for the Charlottesville Chapter of the James River Green Building Council.

Her past employment history includes Climate Protection Program Coordinator for the City of Charlottesville, and prior to that she co-founded a green construction company and sustainable design-build consulting/retail business.


James Corne, Marketing and Outreach Director

Mr. Corne manages the marketing and communications component at LEAP. He earned a Masters in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University, with a concentration in Marketing, Strategic Leadership, and Innovation. His role at LEAP includes marketing execution, brand management, design, media relations and community outreach. 

Before joining the organization in 2012, Mr. Corne worked as the Global Systems Developer at PepsiCo, consulted with Verizon on energy efficiency and served as the Marketing and Communications Director at Penn State's Sustainability Office. In addition he is a member of several professional associations including 1Sky, AIGA, and the Free Masons.


Guy Caroselli, BPI BA, Residential Energy Services Manager (Charlottesville)

Mr. Caroselli joins LEAP from a long career in home performance in New York state. He served as Director of Broome County's Weatherization Assistance Program and prior to that worked as a home performance contractor for over 20 years.

Mr. Caroselli is responsible for managing LEAP's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, and he works closely with participating contractors and residential participants to mentor contractors, facilitate the process, and perform quality assurance.

Michael Hogan, BPI BA, Residential Energy Services Manager (Northern Virginia)

Mr. Hogan joins LEAP with 27 years in the construction industry in residential and commercial construction and residential renovations. Michael has worked with several nonprofit organizations to help better people's lives through providing better living conditions. Michael's passion for customer service has helped propel him throughout his career. Since his introduction to home performance he feels he has finally learned the correct way to make a home comfortable and safe. He holds certifications as a Building Analyst Professional, Envelope Professional, Heating Professional and A/C and Heat Pump Professional.


Lesley Fore, Client Relations Manager

Ms. Fore joined LEAP in November 2010, and is a LEAP client's energy advocate. She advises, trouble-shoots, and generally provides building owners with information about our programs, contractors, loans, rebates, and more.

With more than 10 years of nonprofit and customer relations experience, Ms. Fore has worked with local organizations such as GreenBlue, the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation. She has also worked for the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is well-versed in the challenges of remodeling an older home.

Ron Carter, Low Income Multifamily Housing Project Manager

Mr. Carter joined LEAP in January 2011.  He has responsibility for managing the Low Income Multifamily Housing Project for LEAP.  Primarily, he will oversee a team of professionals engaged in the end to end process of weatherizing these properties. 

Mr. Carter has more than 40 years of experience in the fields of engineering, construction, and facilities management.  He successfully owned and operated a consulting engineering firm and a general contracting company.  He was a senior facilities manager for University of Virginia and Carnegie Mellon University. In addition, he recently served PVCC as Program Manager for the Construction Academy.


Shad Williams, Project Manager, Weatherization Innovation Pilot Program (Hampton Roads)

Mr. Williams brings more than 25 years' experience in energy efficiency and housing programs to his role with LEAP in Hampton Roads. He directed the weatherization of more than 12,000 home weatherization assistance program (HWAP) units for the Columbus Metropolitan Area Community Action Agency in Columbus, OH, and introduced the weatherization of low-income multifamily units to the Ohio HWAP, and produced 6,000 units through coordination with local HUD area office.

He is a Certified BPI Building Analyst, National Development Council Housing Development and Economic Development Financing Professional, Certified Energy Auditor, and has certifications in estimation/inspection, heating unit inspection and field supervision, and previously licensed in lead inspection and lead contractor supervision.


Victoria Long, Program Assistant

Ms. Long joined LEAP at the end of October 2011. She comes to LEAP with more than four years of experience working in the nonprofit sector.  A graduate of the University of Virginia, she completed a year of AmeriCorps service for a domestic violence agency in Maryland in 2010. As the Program Assistant at LEAP, she answers inquiries from clients and helps with community outreach. She is excited to spread the word about energy efficiency in our area!


Internship and Volunteer Openings

LEAP is currently seeking a part-time intern for the 2011-2012 school year. This would be an exceptional opportunity for students interested in engineering, architecture, urban planning, sustainability, community outreach and/or marketing. The incumbent intern would  help with client correspondence, maintaining databases, potential website maintenance, event coordnation, and other tasks as needed to help further the mission of the orgranization. We also need volunteers to help us spread the word about residential and commercial efficiency opportunities around the Charlottesville Area. Making phone calls, canvassing neighborhoods, organizing home energy parties and other events are just some of the activities that need volunteer support. Contact lesley@leap-va.org
