Why This House? 

Kathleen's family of four has been dealing with major comfort issues despit the fact that they live in a 2002 home. Her son's bedroom and husband's office above the garage are particular trouble spots. They've got a fair amount of insulation, but their duct work all sits outside the conditioned space.

 

Issues Uncovered in the Home Energy Assessment:

  • Air handlers and duct work in cold vented attic and crawl spaces

  • Upstairs air handler leaking and needs servicing

Energy Improvements Planned with Makeover:

  • Crawl space vapor barrier repaired, vents sealed, and hatch addressed
  • Accesses cut to side knee wall areas in office aea, sealed and insulated
  • Overhand uncovered and throroughly sealed with foam
  • Servicing of upstairs air handler
  • Unplugging garage regrigerator, smart stripped and CFLs added
