Quality Assurance
When you work with LEAP, you have peace of mind in knowing there are strong, published standards every energy services professional in our program must adhere to, LEAP Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Guidelines, and we will ensure that your work is done professionally and well. These guidelines discuss health and safety requriements, as well as acceptable products and installation methods, and they are based on national home performance and weatherization best practices. We adovocate a building science approach to bringing you the deepest savings at the least cost.
As Central Virginia’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program administrator, we charge our participating contractors a $100 Quality Assurance Fee and Homeowners $75 for their Home Performance with ENERGY STAR certificate. What does your $75 get you?
- LEAP as your resource for customer inquiries and issues
- 0% loan buy downs through the UVA Community Credit Union
- Cash rebates to lower job costs through our grant awards (up to $1250!)
- Technical support and evaluation of your home energy assessment prior to work performed
- When needed, interim site visits for technical support and work sequencing/ testing
- Advocacy for clients with regard to dispute resolution
- Validation of energy savings projections achieved through quality assurance inspection of work performed
- Health and safety inspections
- Rebate processing
- Data collection and reporting to the Department of Energy
- Issuing Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Certificate
When your job is complete, a LEAP staff professional will visit your home to inspect the work to see that it meets our guidelines. If it does not, the contractor will be notified and required to return to your home to address the issue(s). You don't have to be an expert to get expert service - LEAP has your back!
