Winners

Congratulations to the Brooks family of Albemarle County and the Kruse family of Charlottesville, winners of the 2010 Charlottesville Home Energy Makeover Contest. Follow the progress of the contest winners here.

After 1,100 people entered the contest, 10 lucky finalists were chosen to receive free home energy performance assessments valued at $400 each. From these 10 finalists, our two contest winners were chosen.

The Brooks Family

The built dream house for this veteran, his wife and family was built in 1987 and in need of an energy overhaul to help them lower their costs and have a more comfortable home. Energy improvements included air and duct sealing, ductwork, and the replacement of a 23 year old furnace.

The Kruse Family

Mom, Dad and baby Evan live in Belmont - their concerns about their older home were both energy savings and environmentally driven.
