Dominion Energy’s

Income & Age Qualifying Program

Some households may be eligible for income- and age-qualified weatherization programs designed to reduce energy costs and improve home efficiency. These programs are available to both homeowners and renters, as well as to landlords and property managers whose residents meet eligibility requirements. Services are provided at no cost for qualified participants and apply to a range of housing types, including single-family homes, apartments and condominiums, and manufactured homes.

Participants receive an energy assessment to evaluate current conditions and identify opportunities for improvement. Based on the results, approved energy-saving measures may include the installation of low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators, insulation for hot water pipes, and improvements such as attic insulation and air sealing.

To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Household income is at or below 60% of the state median income

  • Household income is at or below 120% of the state median income for households with at least one resident age 60 or older

Residents of Charlottesville and Albemarle can also take advantage of local incentives and rebates through our Energy Resource Hub.
